Who we are
Getting Your Mortgage Ltd (trading as GYM — Getting Your Mortgage; "we", "us", "our") provides Mortgage Fitness tools, the Mortgage Fitness Score and a service that connects users with qualified mortgage advisers. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through our website and related services.
Registered office: 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom. ICO registration number: ZC177396.
Personal data we collect
- Identification: name, age range, residency status.
- Contact: email address and phone number you provide during an assessment or booking.
- Financial information: income, employment status, deposit, property value, monthly commitments, credit profile and dependants — collected as bands or short answers, not full bank-account detail.
- Mortgage intent: purpose (first-time buyer, home mover, remortgage, buy to let), timeframe and property type.
- Account data if you sign in as a broker or administrator.
- Technical data: device, browser, IP address and basic usage analytics required to keep the service secure and reliable.
Why we collect it
We use your data to calculate your Mortgage Fitness Score, prepare useful information for an adviser, contact you about your enquiry, manage adviser appointments and improve the service. Where the law requires a lawful basis, we rely on your consent (when you submit an assessment or booking), our legitimate interests (operating and improving the service) and, where relevant, compliance with legal obligations.
How mortgage enquiry data is used
The information you enter into an assessment is used to generate your Mortgage Fitness Score, produce indicative borrowing and affordability guidance, and create a lead summary that helps an adviser prepare for your call. The score is guidance only and does not constitute mortgage advice or an offer of a mortgage.
Sharing lead data with advisers and brokers
When you request a call or book an appointment, your assessment answers and contact details are shared with the mortgage adviser assigned to your enquiry so they can prepare and contact you. Advisers are required to handle your data confidentially and use it only for the purpose of advising you on your mortgage. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Email notifications
We send transactional emails relating to your enquiry — for example, assessment confirmations, appointment confirmations, reschedule or cancellation notices and reminders. These emails are part of the service and are not marketing. If we introduce marketing emails in the future we will ask for your consent first.
Appointment booking data
When you book an adviser appointment we store the date, time, adviser, your contact details and a secure token used to manage, reschedule or cancel the appointment. Reschedule and cancellation links are sent by email and expire when the appointment has passed.
Data retention
We retain assessment and booking data for as long as needed to provide the service, support your adviser relationship and meet our legal and regulatory obligations. Where data is no longer required we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
